EPAc 2025 Year in Review: Youth Empowerment, Partnerships and Community Impact

In 2025, Earth Peace Action (EPAc) continued its commitment to empowering young people, strengthening communities and promoting sustainable development through practical programmes, educational initiatives and strategic partnerships.

Throughout the year, EPAc focused on creating opportunities for young people to develop their skills, participate in positive activities, build confidence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Highlights of 2025
1. NetGuard Teens 2025: Promoting Digital Safety

NetGuard Teens 2025 engaged 57 teenagers in learning about online safety, productive digital platforms, misinformation, positive digital identity and emerging technologies. Through sessions led by facilitators with relevant knowledge and experience, the programme encouraged teenagers to become more informed, responsible and confident digital citizens.

In 2025, EPAc launched Quiz & Win, a monthly show designed to support university students and challenge the perception that “school is a scam”. Across five sessions, the initiative spotlighted one university student at a time, using a knowledge-based quiz to encourage participation and reinforce the value of education.

2. Quiz & Win: Encouraging University Students

The initiative promoted a message of perseverance, learning and continued investment in personal development. Recordings of the sessions are available on EPAc’s YouTube channel.

3. Community Football and Youth Development

EPAc used football as a platform for youth engagement, teamwork and community participation. Its community football activities brought together six communities in the first competition, creating opportunities for young people to participate in organised sport and demonstrate their abilities.

The activities also incorporated discussions on positive internet use and skills development. A subsequent edition expanded participation to include schools and communities, further demonstrating the potential of sport to connect young people and encourage constructive engagement.

4. Leadership and Mentorship

On 22 May 2025, EPAc partnered in the delivery of the 3rd Leadership and Mentorship Summit, organised by the INVENT Project at Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure.

The summit provided an opportunity to engage students around leadership, mentorship, career development and the importance of education. EPAc’s participation reflected its commitment to collaboration and to supporting initiatives that help young people make informed decisions about their futures.

Partnerships and Community Engagement

EPAc recognises that meaningful development requires collaboration among organisations, educators, communities and individuals. Its 2025 activities reflected the value of partnerships and practical engagement in advancing education, youth development and community participation.

By working through different programme formats, EPAc continued to explore ways to make learning accessible, encourage positive choices and create platforms for young people to participate and grow.

Looking Ahead

The experiences of 2025 provide a foundation for EPAc’s continued work in youth empowerment, education, digital and vocational skills, leadership, sport and environmental sustainability.

As the organisation moves forward, it remains committed to developing practical programmes, strengthening partnerships and creating opportunities that respond to the needs and potential of young people and their communities.
